The MK Job Show will see over 70 companies recruiting across sectors including Health Care, IT, Finance, Marketing and more, but the 2-day event will also offer free seminars and workshops to improve career skills and confidence. Please see the schedule for seminars held at the event below.

Please find below the Seminars and Workshops that are taking place at the upcoming MK Job Show on the 26th & 27th January 2018.

The Seminars and Workshops are free to view and provide a valuable insight into the recruitment process and how to succeed in your job search.

Friday 26th January:

11:00 – Deloitte – Make An Impact That Matters – The success of Deloitte’s vision to positively impact the reputation and success of its clients, the economy and the wider society is down to its people. Representatives from its Milton Keynes office discuss this, and outline local job opportunities for apprentices to experienced professionals.

11:30 – Develop – Writing an Effective CV – Do you know your skills and competencies? Do you know how to use this information effectively in a CV? Do you know what your CV should look like? If not, then you should attend this workshop!

12:00 – The University of Bedfordshire – Routes into Nursing & Healthcare – This seminar will focus on the wide range of careers within the NHS.  Hosted by the University of Bedfordshire, and with the opportunity to start your training in February 2018, this seminar will explain the pathways to becoming a fully qualified Nurse, Midwife, Paramedic and Operating Department Practitioner.

12:30 – Pets at Home – Recruiting with Company Values – An interactive presentation on how companies look for candidates to display their values during the recruitment process and how you can prepare to show yourself in the best light.

13:00 – PwC – Interview Skills Masterclass – Skills session delivered by PwC recruitment professionals.

13:30 – Develop – Interview Skills – Want to perform well in an interview? Want to get tips and techniques on how to impress interviewers? If so, this workshop is for you!

14:00 – Xero – Maximising your Job Search: Tips and Tricks

14:30 – Develop – Understanding Assessment Centres – Many employers use assessment centres to recruit staff. Do you know the typical individual assessments they use? This workshop will give you an insight and provide tips on how to do well!

15:00 – PJ Care – What are you looking for? – PJ Care’s practical guide to identifying the right role for you.

15:30 – Develop – Writing an Effective CV – Do you know your skills and competencies? Do you know how to use this information effectively in a CV? Do you know what your CV should look like? If not, then you should attend this workshop!

16:00 – JD Wetherspoon – My Journey…. The sky is the limit at spoons – Area Manager Calum Brennan tells his story about how he started at JD Wetherspoon and his rise to the top and his goal for his future at spoons.

16:30 – Develop – Interview Skills – Want to perform well in an interview? Want to get tips and techniques on how to impress interviewers? If so, this workshop is for you!

Saturday 27th January:

11:00 – The Army – Army Career’s Overview – This will cover a variety of roles available in the Army.  We will touch on the requirements for each role as well the Assessment Centre itself. We will cover the features and benefits of a career in the army as well as the Adventurous Training Opportunities available.

11:30 – Develop – Writing an Effective CV – Do you know your skills and competencies? Do you know how to use this information effectively in a CV? Do you know what your CV should look like? If not, then you should attend this workshop!

12:00 – The University of Bedfordshire – University??  Yes you can! – The University of Bedfordshire offers a diverse range of higher education courses.  Our Foundation Year programme is a unique and exciting opportunity that allows everyone to reach their full potential.  These programmes, funded through the Student Loan System and taught in Milton Keynes, offer a viable option for anyone wishing to re-train or re-qualify.
